Being a man with a baby in the house and letting the wife bond with the child can be beneficial to the male counterpart of the family. True fathers are busy making a living for the family, and yet there ways to bond with the baby while you are there. Even the absence of not being around all the time can still bring the baby and the father close together. It must be God's way of teaching a man about his child.
Here are some ways for the man of the house to partner with the wife and build attachment with your baby:
1) Make sure your baby knows your voice by talking to it on a regular basis. Babies recognize sounds and relate to them. The same goes for voices and the tones of your voice that will have the baby looking around the room for you. Talk with your baby and allow them to see your face as you do.
2) Touching and playing games like peek a boo and patty cake are very good things to do in bonding with the baby. They look at it as a fun way to interact with the parent.
3) Participating in bathing your baby is also considered fun time, so make the daily event a family affair. Sharing the bathing times with your spouse in rotation will allow the father to bond with the child as well. Many fathers leave the responsibilities of changing diapers and bathing the baby to the mother. Nothing can help more than being a part of the baby's routines.
4) Carrying the baby is a good way for a father to bond with the baby too. Walking them around a room and showing them colorful pictures that may adorn your walls and your voice sounds make the baby even more interested in what they are viewing.
5) Bed time is always a favorite of fathers. Holding the baby while he recovers from a hard day can have good effects on his bonding with the baby. Though the father may be tired and weary it is the bonding with the baby he wishes not to miss. The father with their masculine arms bonds quickly with the baby. The baby associates the father with strength and security when the father is holding the child.
6) This is a good bonding way for the mother and she also benefits from the nighttime rituals of singing to the baby while putting it to sleep. A soothing hum and the softness of her skin help the baby to relax. All babies associate the mother as the main caregiver but it is also important for the father to participate in the 3:00 a.m. feedings and diaper changes during the night.
7) Most believe that women have the advantage when it comes to bonding with the baby because they are around more. That may be true in certain circumstances, but bonds between the father and the baby can be just as strong if he spends even a little time with the baby. If the baby feels loved, the rest is chalked up to instinct for the baby and father. It is a love and bond without end for a father that takes part in his child's life.
In closing this article on bonding with your baby. It should not be all about the mother, it should also include the father as well. So many fathers are reluctant to participate in the baby's activities until they become older. If a father loves his child, the mother will surely help the father in bonding methods with the child if the father feels uncomfortable. The main thing is to jump in and get involved. You can not jump in the water without getting wet and even if you get in over your head, babies are so forgiving towards the parent. Babies love unconditionally and realize what you are trying to do even if you are a man.
