Poetry: Near death

by Christine King

Created on: June 23, 2009

How scary is life?

When you're faced with the end.

Confronted by demons

Devoid friends.

How scary is life?

When the dark angel comes to call,

Who will be there to catch,

Your loved ones when they fall?

How scary is life?

The life unlived.

Floating on uncertainty

Never one to forgive.

How scary is life?

The dreams unfulfilled

Put off for another day

Never to be rebuilt.

How scary is life?

As you watch your own end

Barreling down the darkness

Tumbling end over end.

How scary now is life?

Have you learned nothing at all?

Stand up.

Back Straight.

Now

Walk

Tall.

Stop being so afraid.

Live your life.

God has given you another chance

Don't let this one slip by.

Live life to the fullest

My father, my heart

Reach for your dreams

Don't ever stop.
