Virginia Beach offer good value hotels for families. Accommodations range from budget rooms to modern luxury suites featuring cutting-edge technologies and spa-like amenities. An upside of staying in Virginia Beach is the direct access most hotels have to the beach. Many hotels also cluster around bustling Atlantic Avenue, which has a 3-mile long boardwalk for strolling to major attractions, restaurants, and shops.

This unpretentious hotel sits in the heart of Virginia Beach, right on Atlantic Avenue. Alamar won't win awards for its out-dated Queen Anne decor, but what it lacks in style is made up for in other areas.

Guests at Alamar get more than what they pay for. Owners Max and Theresa provide top-notch hospitality at no frills costs. Comfortable surroundings and a homey atmosphere draws repeat visitors back to Alamar.

Suites include a spacious bedroom and a separate living area with a full kitchen, cable TV, a desk, and sofa bed. Guests have access to the large pool and two rooftop decks.

Alamar's location is prime. Despite being across from the beach and close to the ocean, Alamar manages to remain competitively priced. Restaurants and shops are within easy reach.

Schooner Inn is a popular, family-friendly hotel ideally positioned right on the beach. Families vacationing with young children are frequent guests. As such, there's always a buzz of activity.

You don't get plush terry bathrobes or concierge service here, but there are hot tubs and wet bars; some rooms have Jacuzzis. Wi-Fi and internet access is available in lobby. Not bad for a budget hotel.

Bedrooms are standard with king size beds. Fully functioning kitchenettes include a refrigerator, range, dishes, cooking utensils, and a microwave oven. If you prefer not to cook, eating out a nearby restaurants and pizzerias is a nice alternative.

Daily maid services provide linens and towels. There's also coin-operated laundry rooms on each floor.
