Should you act on what your psychic told you?

How do you know if you should follow a psychic's advice? Are they all legitimate? Do they really know what they are talking about? This is a very important question; and one you should ask yourself before following the advice any psychic gives you.

Finding a psychic, especially one you can trust isn't an easy thing to do. You will find there are many advertisements in papers or online for psychic phone lines, or online readings. There are areas where a psychic will set up a storefront where you can walk in or make an appointment. Are they legitimate though? Do they really possess the ability to tell you what you are asking them for? There are a few ways you can tell if they're legitimate or not.

If you decide to consult a psychic for finding love for example, first you should ask friends to recommend someone to you. At least it will be someone with prior experience with them and can give you a detailed description of their experiences. Of course you can look up psychics online and in newspapers too; but you will be going there blind and never know what you might find. Doing some research on each psychic if possible is always a good idea.

When you are with the psychic, ask them what you wish to know and keep it fairly simple. Wait for the psychic to answer you before you ask any more questions. If you are unclear about something they have said to you, ask them to clarify themselves; either by pulling another card in the Tarot deck, or by just expressing what they are feeling more clearly.

A psychic shouldn't ask you too many questions about your personal life, whether you are married, your family or anything like that; unless that is what you are specifically asking about. If they do ask too many questions it's a good bet they are a cold reader. A person who is scamming you. You can really tell if they don't give you any information that relates to you or what you are asking in a true sense.

Cold readers use your mannerisms, if you are wearing a ring or not, what you wear and what you want to know to give you what appears to be an accurate and concise reading. In reality, it's nothing more than a general reading designed for just about everyone. You can spot this if they never really cater anything to you.

You can find a good psychic usually by word of mouth. Many don't advertise at all, since they don't really need to. Their reputation proceeds them and you can usually find someone who has used one they trust and recommend them to you.
