The Premier League has a number of good teams. For the best teams, you cannot ignore the league table. It can be said, that the top five or six finishers are the best teams for the season. Currently, these are the best:

Manchester Utd

They are again the league champions, and as such the best team in the league. It was not a stroll, but undoubtedly they were able to hold out over Liverpool and Chelsea. With such players as Rooney and Owen, they have a great team.

Liverpool

It is expected that Liverpool have the best teams, but they are still without a league title for over a decade. This season Liverpool had a good season in the league, and was closest to Utd. Their overall league form was very good. At their best, with players like Torres & Gerrard, they can beat any other team in England or even Europe.

Chelsea

Chelsea started the season as potential champions, and although they did not win the league they had a chance. Chelsea dropped a few points early season, so ultimately finished a little short of first spot. However, although not quite as consistent, their form in the league and cups proved that they are amongst Europe's best. In addition, they also won the FA Cup.

Arsenal

For Arsenal, they had some patchy league form and lost too many games to really win the league. As such, falling quite a few points short off top spot. However, with a good run of league form they comfortably qualified for the Champions League again. In addition, they made the Champions League semi-finals. Their team has some excellent players like Fabregas, and play great attacking soccer.

Aston Villa

Although without trophies, it was a good season for the Midlands club. Aston Villa has re-emerged as one of the league's best teams. Although not qualifying for the Champions League, they qualified for Europe. While still falling somewhat short of Utd and Liverpool in the league, they are still a good Premiership team. However, Aston Villa still needs a better squad to realistically have a chance of winning league.

Everton

Aside from these top league finishers, I would include Everton as well who also did quite well in the league and qualified for Europe. They also reached the FA Cup final. In recent seasons, they have been the best team outside of the top four.

So overall, those are currently the Premiership's best teams. Indeed, in recent seasons Utd have had the best teams alongside Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. They have top class players, and so remain ahead of the other clubs.
