About one year ago my wife was about 3 months pregnant. She was still working as a cashier at a grocery store and was about to use her maternity leave. One evening I was at home with our other children and my wife called home panicking. She basically told me that she was bleeding very heavily and she was coming home so that I could take her to the hospital. Up until that point she was looking at having another child as an incovenience and pretty much spoke against her pregnancy. When she got home I saw just how much she was bleeding and it scared me. I immediately started to pray non stop. It is necessary to understand that before this incident her perception of the world and life in general was mostly material. Meaning she believed more in her ability to do things than God's ability and willingness to do things. I knew that the power of life and death is in the tongue. Basically she had talked herself into a miscarriage through her complaining and negative attitude toward a blessing from God. The ride to the hospital was quiet. I was praying and imagined that she was probably worrying like crazy. For fear of her worry cancelling out my faith I tried to encourage her to have a positive attitude. This time she did not respond with her usual, "How do you expect me to not worry at a time like this!" I told her if she trusted God and had faith without doubt this situation would turn out positive. The truth is if God wanted to bring our unborn child unto himself at that time,all the worry in the world would not help. I trust God's decisions even though I usually don't understand them even when I think I do. Believe it or not when we got to the hospital we had to wait for a while in the waiting room. My wife began having chills and feeling very ill. Attempts at getting a higher priority over other patient's seemingly less severe emergencies failed. When we finally got into a hospital room after some time a nurse eventually came in. She began using a device attempting to locate a heartbeat. She tried several times but found nothing. The nurse obviously concerned said that she was going to get a doctor. My wife started to cry. I held her hand and told her if she wanted to keep her child she would have to pray and believe for a positive out come. We sat in the room alone and prayed together. God must have given me the right words at the time because her faith was charged up and I am rarely very inspiring under my own power. The evidence was against us,so much blood loss and no heartbeat. My mind at the time would not even allow me to consider the possibility of losing our baby. The doctor came in asking questions and tried to find the heartbeat as well. I heard it immediately but no one else did for some reason and I smiled at God's goodness as they both searched for something that I knew was there. Suddenly we saw the baby jump in my wifes stomach and the heartbeat was audible to all on the sonargram!The hospital never did figure out what was wrong or even how it got right,but of course we still had to pay them loads of money. Thank you Father for our miracle! We named her Nakiya Miracle and that is exactly what she is. That is what all children are,all people for that matter. Our Father in Heaven is very worthy of praise!
