Essays: Racism

You would have thought that from billions upon billions of years roaming the planet that we now would have evolved to such a degree where we do not pick on others for the colour of their skin or their origins. Why is it still going on? Why do humans find it necessary to destroy one another and achieve nothing? All because of the colour of our skin or because we are from different countries or even counties for that matter and have different accents?

People are so narrow minded and they refuse to embrace anything that is different even though it is no great matter to them or anyone in the human race or the universe for that matter. We should have learnt from Hitler who our ancestors fought against so that we could fight against inequality and racism, Hitler destroyed and killed so many people all because of racism. So if people are still racist today and we read in the headlines of the news and the papers that people are still being beaten and killed because of their colour and their race we actually achieved nothing through the war and soldiers who gave their lives died in vain.

That is the sad but very true statement; we were fighting a monster that hated anyone who was different and if the colour of their skin was different, we did not stand for it then so much so that we came to the aid of our allies and declared war on Germany, yet we do tolerate people being racist today.

Society needs to make examples out of people who are racist, this needs doing and implementing through tougher sentences for racially motivated hate acts, we need people to stand up and speak out through our media against racist people, we need people to change their mind sets that immigrants are taking our jobs.

How about when we travelled to different countries and made it our own, such as Africa and Australia and jobs and homes were created over there for people in the Western World so that they could live in these countries, how is it any different? It is not though, people just forget all of this, all the people in the statistics that are leaving the Western world to live abroad and soak up the sun for the rest of their days or get jobs in other countries for more money and to settle there because they believe they have more in common with the Governments in other countries than they do with the Governments in the Western World.

Why do racist people not think about that before they attack people who are different skinned to white and people who come to our countries to work
