RADIO
Driving a car is fun. It takes you wherever you want to go and doesn't matter when you want to go. It is also equipped with many gadgets that make your trip comfortable. The most common thing installed in almost every vehicle is a radio. You may turn it on when you want to listen to it and turn it off when it is disturbing your thoughts.
Before I came to America I didn't have a car so I didn't have a radio in it. But I had a radio at home. It was a pleasure to listen to it. There were only three stations on it ,but each of them had a great variety of programs that I could listen to for the whole day if I had time. There was always something interesting on and I remember being almost glued to it anxiously awaiting for the news, music, interviews and what not. All of those three stations were good. There was no competition between them. None of them ever said that it was the best or the music it played was the best and you couldn't find it anywhere else. The news was interesting and from all over the world. I knew what was going on in my country and what happened abroad not only in our neighboring countries, but in Asia, Africa, America...
When there was something on about sport it didn't matter that it had happened in Ethiopia, Great Britain or Argentina. I was informed about all the important events that had taken place on those sports arenas. The world of music would satisfy the most fastidious desire of music fans. I knew what people were singing and listening to in Hungary, France, Italy, Brazil or Japan. I knew what symphony was the best, what opera was worth to see and who the great composers were.
And one day I came to America looking for a brighter future. I have found it because almost all of those who had come here found a better place to live. After a few years of struggle I was able to buy a car. Not only buy a car but a car with a radio in it.
Driving is fun. I can go wherever I want to go and whenever I want to go. I may listen to the radio whenever I am bored and I may turn it off when I have more important things on my mind. But despite having a radio in my car, I feel like something was taken from me. There are a lot of radio stations I may listen to, but I constantly punch the button hoping to find a station that would catch my attention. So I punch, punch, punch...
Madonna - I like her songs. Phil Collins - I like him too. nSYNC - good harmony... Commercial - The best transmission mechanic is on Main Street. Punch... Somebody assures
