Many women have a list of standards that make up the man of their dreams. These standards are, for the most part, sometimes incomprehensible, for they may end up creating a man who seems impossible. But, each woman has a different definition of what the "man of her dreams" is, so that it is subjective to ask whether that man exists.

Only a woman, in the singular sense, can determine whether or not there is a true man of her dreams. For instance, she is the only one who can really tell what her list of standards are, and she is the only one who can tell whether those standards have been met. A man could guess forever at what a woman wants, but at the end of the day, the woman has the last word when it comes to her desires.

In general, the characteristics that most women want in a man are very similar. For example, most women want a man with a sense of humor, a man who is able to provide, a man who is ambitious, a man with a kind heart, and a man who loves to compliment them. But, sometimes, women have expectations of a man who has all these qualities, and that almost seems impossible. Just as there are certainly no perfect women in the world, there are also no perfect men. For women to expect that there is a perfect man out there for them is to believe in something like a tax-free state.

But, if a woman changes her standards and makes them more lenient, then perhaps she can have the true man of her dreams. If she understands that men have flaws and that, if those flaws are minor, that they might be needed in making him who he really is, then she will perhaps be rewarded with a man who stands very close to being the man of her dreams.

If women do not let their standards fall just a little, then they risk losing out on men who have the potential of being their perfect man. And, sometimes, there is perfection in imperfection, so that the true man of our dreams may be a man with a few small flaws. Those flaws may be what makes him the true man of our dreams, though we like to think otherwise.

A woman can spend her whole life looking for the true man of her dreams, but if she doesn't try looking right in front of her, she may have wasted her life trying to find something that was right in front of her. Therefore, women should be wary of the list of standards that they carry in their hearts and minds, and let floodgates open just a little bit. By doing so, they may find that they have known the true man of their dreams all along.
