I consider myself quite a fast food connoisseur. Living and working in New York City affords me access to every single type of fast food restaurant in existence (except In-N-Out Burger which is still a California only staple), but my love affair with McDonalds and Burger King goes back to my childhood. Between Happy Meals and family road trip stops at restaurants across America, I have an unhealthy love of all things fast food.

With my self-granted expertise in the world of fast food, I believe I have an understanding and appreciation for the best of the fast food French Fries.

1. McDonalds: Hands down, McDonalds consistently has the best French Fries of any of the fast food establishments. They are perfectly golden, skinny fries with just the right amount of salt and grease. When I crave French Fries, McDonalds is where I go for instant satisfaction. I could eat an endless supply of the McDonalds fries!

2. Arby's: For awhile, there were fewer and fewer Arby's restaurants in the Northeast, but that has changed in the last year. And I am very happy about that! Arby's offers curly fries, which are hard to find nowadays, and yet oh so yummy. They are twisty and fun, and most importantly, tasty. Next to McDonalds, Arby's has the best fast food fries around.

3. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC): The potato wedges at Kentucky Fried Chicken are one of the most unique of the fast food French Fries. Shaped like half-moons, these wedges are crisped and seasoned to a crunchy-on-the-outside and soft-on-the-inside goodness. Unlike the McDonalds fries, these KFC potato wedges actually fill me up.

4. Burger King: If you prefer thick cut fries, then head to Burger King. A new type of French Fries were introduced a few years ago at Burger King, changing the texture of the fries. They are not skinny and smooth like the McDonalds fries, rather they're thicker with extra fried batter on them. They're very good, but a little heavy sometimes.

5. T.G.I. Friday's: Now I know some of you are questioning why a chain restaurant is listed among a list of the best fast food French Fries, but these fries are so good they are worth mentioning here. The blend of seasons that T.G.I. Friday's uses to add flavor to their fries is incredible; its salty and peppery and there are pinches of other seasonings mixed in, making the fries absolutely delicious. If you aren't in the mood for a full meal, just pop into your local T.G.I. Friday's for a drink at the bar and order a side of the fries.

Whether you are complementing your meal or just looking for a quick snack, these French Fries will hit the spot. Yummy!
