Ignis
I stand unaffected by the flame
Untouched by fire
Unwilling to feel the burn
I watch the flickering light
And extend a trembling hand
But not to touch
Only the promise of warmth
Dances against outstretched digits
Do I dare venture forth
An invitation of orange
A crackling summons
Confusing my resolve
Cold is my companion
A numbing retreat
But I am lost
And alone
Too long I have wandered
In the absence of heat
A choice must be made
To rekindle my soul
My hand reaches forward
Fingers searing with pain
I am burned
I am in pain
I am alive
