Marriage will be uplifting and will send positive energy throughout your life but only if the husband and wife wants it to be. There are a lot of factors that go along way in developing a healthy and vibrant marriage. Marriage should be handled like a new born baby. When the newborn arrives the last thing that anyone should do is introduce them to bad and chaotic environments. These kind of negative things will destroy the immune system of a newborn and will create negative energy in a marriage in the way of bad communications, negative growth and create an emotional distant couple. These are major contributors to divorce, infidelity, secrecy and mistrust.

First and foremost I am a Christian so I believe that a consistent prayer and submission to God is a couple's primary responsibility. As well, a spouse should always seek to supply positive influence and energy to the marriage. Complimenting each other for the not so obvious things. Viewing mistakes as learning experiences and discussing them as a couple to alleviate a recurrence of offenses. Friends and relatives that does not assist in the cultivating of your marriage should be eliminated immediately no matter your history with them. "Misery loves company". Activities that give your spouse the wrong impression of you should be resolved or altered until they gain a better understanding of it such as, weekly basketball games with the boys, shopping sprees with women who are still single, out of town trips to visit friends your spouse hasn't met yet. These activities can assist in making your spouse suspicious of your intentions until they get to know you.

Read books on marriage survival from different perspectives. Although some of the most insightful may come from Christian sources it is helpful to view those of other religious or other non-Christian persuasions. Invest into marriage counselors. Many married couples that are in route to divorce wish that they had took advantage of premarital counseling before they got married. Don't be afraid to hire a counselor to help you resolve "negative items" in your marriage. As often as possible attend marriage seminars, especially those that come with hotel stays and require a road trip. On the road trip you can gauge and discuss your individual reasons for going. Also you will also find that it is a good time to reflect on why you married. A hotel stay can give you the opportunity to spread positive emotional and physical energy without distractions without the rigorous schedules and constant phone calls.The reinforcement that the seminars will make available to you will clean and nurture the environment in your marriage.

Finally, not spending quality time with your spouse can create a vacuum for all things negative. This earth can be a negative place so if you are not there with them the negative things may just find themselves a way in. Twelve years of marriage have yielded us negative and positive experiences. But continued focus on the positive things have kept our marriage vibrant and romantic. My experiences have taught me the energy must remain positive because nothing else works.
