Tribute to mothers

to ask her out; suddenly my dad felt the pressure and ran to ask her out - with no hesitation she said, "YES!"

After few times of dating, he proposed to her and you know the rest!

~~ MARRIED LIFE ~~

After marriage, she preferred to postpone having children until she had LIVED HER LIFE TO THE MAX! My dad was longing for a child but she always refused even to talk about it. I think now it was because she had already helped bring up 11 children! Anyway, my dad never dared open this subject again! Seven years later she felt pregnant BY ACCIDENT; because she was from a religious background she did not even consider the possibility of not keeping the baby (thank God!) and guess what? It was twins - yes, my sister and me.

She wasn't that passionate a wife or a mother; my dad used to surprise her with flowers and gifts but she always seemed to be thinking about herself and her career. Two years after having us she decided she needed to get back to work and left us to my dad's care while she was at work. I don't think many men would accept this, but he did it for our sake, and because he loved her so much. He had a long '''vacation''' to look after us.

My sister and I felt that we didn't have our mother's love while she was working; she was always busy and never seemed to have time for us. It might look like I am against her or wanting to make her look bad - not at all - she was, and still is, my mama, and she raised us up well; maybe with less passion and love than I wanted, but, looking back now, I see that she had her own way to show that she cared for us, even though I hardly noticed it then. I wanted to feel her hugs and kisses; she was always busy and getting ready for work.

~~ ANOTHER CHILD ~~

My mother wasn't there for us, when my sister and I first went to school. I saw all the kids with their mothers at the school, and when they cried they always asked for their mama. I know that I might look like a spoilt, selfish child, but I wanted my mama and her support; they all had their mamas except me! Sometimes, there is nothing better than your mother's hand stroking your hair and touching your skin.

When Donna and I were six years old . . . a boy came along (lucky him!) After she had been working a few years she decided to return and finally have the time for us. I felt it was too late for me at least as she was pregnant with my little brother Jos. After he was born, he had all the attention and my sister and I were deprived of her attention again . . . my sister
