Deadlines to meet. Salary Day. A good vacation. The weekend. An approved loan. That new car you've been wanting to have for so long now. A new house. We all have a lot of things that each of us wish to accomplish or to own in the future, different things for different people. These things usually make us wish that we could fast forward days so that they will just be there within our grasps. These things that we wanted so much. Things that we have been looking forward to.
We look forward to good things. They are the rewards we reap from our hard work. We always feel motivated because of these kind of things. Motivated to do our best because we know that hard work will soon pay off.
Three months from now, I'll be a mom of our very first child. This is the best blessing ever given to me and my husband and our families. After a year of fulfilled marriage, this gift is finally granted. Another angel in the the family. We are all too excited for his coming. We can't even stop talking about how would he be like when he goes out or when he grows up.
You know the feeling when something is about to happen or someone is about to come. It is just unexplainable. It is beyond what words can say. It happened when I had my ultrasound last Saturday, June 20, 2009. It was the first time I ever saw my baby's features. His face, his nose, his lips, and everything about him. It felt like, wow, then the realization sank in that there really is life inside me. And that months from now, he'll be here with us physically. We are way beyond grateful. We are just so thankful that God gave us this privilege to look forward to.
In reality, there will come a time that those things we have been wishing and are granted/given to us, will be taken for granted. We always want something new, something different. We always want what is best for us. But let us not forget that what we have right now are the ones we used to want in life. So now that they have been granted to us, we better take care of them starting this moment and in the future. There may be somethings better than them but they are ours, they are what we have and what is real.
The future is still far from our hands. We always look for a better future and better things. But as of the present moment, what we can do is to hope and pray that whatever happens in the future, it will be God's will and it will definitely happen for a reason, and for our own good as well.
