It is sad to face the reality that any relationship can and will die if it is not given the time and effort that it requires to grow and survive.
A healthy and happy relationship is not something that just happens. A good relationship takes work and commitment. Anyone can 'have' a bad relationship but few people 'want' a bad relationship. A lot of relationships end because one or both partners are not willing to put forth the effort to make a good relationship. Most older couples realize why it is important to work on a relationship, while younger couples do not realize a relationship needs work, that is why many young relationships do not last. People who have been together for many years continuously work on their relationship. Relationships take work if you want that relationship to last.
Another reason relationships die is because of lack of communication. Communication is a very important aspect of any relationship. Without communication, a relationship will quickly die. It is very easy for words or actions to be twisted. If you do not communicate correctly, it is very easy for a partner's feelings to get hurt. Good communication is an important skill that will help you throughout your life. Communication is necessary for a strong healthy relationship.
One major reason relationships die is lack of common interests. It is very easy in the beginning of a relationship for both partners to pretend to have the same interests but that will quickly fade. It is important that a couple enjoys doing at least some activities together or they will quickly grow apart. While it is also good to have an interest outside of the relationship, having too many, will lead to the end of the relationship. Couples that enjoy the same activities are often closer and happier. Couples need similar interests to maintain a healthy relationship.
There are many ways a relationship can die. If you are committed to the relationship and willing to work at maintaining the relationship, it will make the relationship stronger and less likely to die. A relationship can be amazing with the right effort from both partners. Any relationship can die without work. No one likes to be in a failing relationship but many people are faced with one because they do not put in the work to maintain the relationship. Relationships that are worked, create a tight bond between both partners. The stronger the bond between two partners, the stronger the relationship will become and it will be less likely to die.
