Summer Months and Business

Many businesses may attempt to slow down in the spring and summer months, but their customers have a different point of view. It may appear to slow down since off work time demands occur for employees. If your business serves the people who are breaking out of their home from confinement from the cold of winter, expect that business will increase. If work occurs outside, a business should expect to increase more in the spring and summer.

Business Desire

Society makes it difficult on business. Children are out of school for months during the warmest portion of the year. Construction work and agriculture related jobs operate at peek operation in the warmest months, because the weather makes outside work possible. In the past children were out of school so they could help with this work around family farms, but corporate farming has changed the need. With parents at work during this period, there is an increase need for childcare. Childcare businesses do not slow down during spring and summer months.

The Vacation time for families aligns with the school calendar. Employees will want to take vacations with their families while the children are out of school. Car trips are easier during the months without ice and snow. Business would like busy to slow down so they can staff while honoring vacation time off for their customers.

Warm Weather Business

Spring-cleaning happens in the spring with the home improvement industry. The plans completed in winter spring into action in the summer. This causes interest in contractors, rental services, home improvement stores, nurseries. These businesses need employees to assist in meeting these improvements for homemakers.

People are leaving their homes and need the services of restaurateurs, sporting goods, travel guides, hotel staff and amusement park employees. When the weather is threatening a meal at home is more appealing than struggling out on icy roads. Many organizations are meeting in parks for picnics, which makes a demand on take out foods.

In addition the have transportation needs. Gasoline prices rise around memorial weekend because the demand increases so this industry does not slow down. The gasoline stations need service and the cars they fuel need service increasing car maintenance service.

Mistaken Exception

The retail industry likes to think they make the bulk of the income in the weeks between Thanksgiving and New Years, but within summer, a couple of exception occurs. The prime months for weddings are in the summer so many purchase-wedding presents. In August, the malls fill with schoolchildren preparing for the new school year. Many avoid malls during this period because of the parental child struggle, but most likely, not enough to satisfy an attitude of business slow down.

Business may desire a slow down in spring and summer but many businesses increase during these months. In addition, problem develops from employees wanting time off.
