All about bamboo flooring

by Sewanti

Traditionally, people have been using carpets to beautify the floors of their dream houses. But molds and mildew, dust mites and animal fur get lodged on the carpets, triggering allergic responses in hypersensitive individuals. The best alternative is hardwood flooring'. Apart from being very durable, hardwood floors are easier to clean. These do not harbor the potential allergens, thereby ensuring better indoor air quality.

Also, pesticides from the gardens cannot accumulate on wooded floors, as they sometimes do on other flooring materials. These floors do not give out any harmful toxic fumes that are sometimes released from synthetic floor laminations. Whether remodeling your residence or building a new dream home, wooden floor will add to the resale value of your house.

Now perhaps the toughest step is deciding on the material - what type of wood to use for the flooring? The choices are wide hardwood floors come in many colors, styles, and finish. Consumers can take their pick from the gorgeous oak or maple, the supple pine-wood, the outstanding teak, or even natural bamboo. Each of these types are different from each other in terms of shade, grain and rigidity. which one you chose would depend on what looks best in your rooms.

There are two varieties of hardwood flooring: Unfinished and Pre-finished. The unfinished variety provides the scope of showcasing your own imaginative ingenuity. However, it needs some treatments prior to installation. Installing pre-finished flooring is simpler, requires no milling or grilling, and usually long warranty periods are provided. However, no originality can be included as it comes with its finishing complete.

Maintenance of hardwood flooring is not too tough. It needs to be protected from exposure to moisture, and care must be taken to prevent scratches. Using area rugs or floor protectors is helpful. Varnishes, oils and waxes can restore the shine of the flooring. The products should be chosen with care; some of these chemicals can be abrasive and add to the wear and tear. However, even though the ease of installation is higher and the floors last longer, hardwood flooring can be quite expensive.

The best alternative is to go for Bamboo Flooring.

Bamboo is an environment-friendly material that has found use as flooring since over a decade now. Conventionally, bamboo has been used for flooring in Eastern Asian lands like China, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia. Contemporary
