Your personality can have a significant effect on the type of interior design that will suit you. If you are a social butterfly, your home needs to offer the flexibility to entertain. 4. What are your passions and hobbies?

Your passions and hobbies can provide a good indication of what your personal style is. If you are a nature lover, who enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, natural elements would probably reflect your personal style. If you love old movies, perhaps a period setting might inspire you. If you are a technology buff, a very modern look might be right up your alley.

It is very important to understand what suits you before buying paint, or booking a contractor. This is because your home should be decorated in a way that provides you with a happy, comfortable place to live. Give some serious thought to the questions above, before making any decisions. If you share a home with others you will also need to work out a way to meet everyone else's needs.
