Choosing dorm room bedding

There are many different dorm bedding styles available to choose from, making choosing dorm bedding one of the most difficult decisions you'll make before you enter college. There are comforters, quilts, and blankets as well as different sheet types. Then there are different colors available. For me, I thought about the purpose of a bed at college and decided I did not want to bring my bedding from home. After all, who knows who will be coming in and using my bed as a couch because the chairs are taken. I did not want my favorite quilt getting ridiculously dirty. So, what did I decide to do?

I decided that it would be most beneficial for me to personally go ahead and buy another quilt. I love quilts because they aren't bulky. They also do not keep you too warm but do not let you get too cold either. They are great to use on beds and if they are slightly off on size, it is much easier to disguise than a comforter. I also chose to buy a large blanket that could help keep me warm if I needed it.

Lastly, the pillows. I bought lots of pillows because I knew that I would be using my bed as a couch frequently and the pillows would make it feel more like a couch. I also think it is fun to sleep with a lot of pillows wrapping your body. It keeps you snug and cozy regardless of the temperature.

Another factor I considered when choosing my bedding was how the colors would match the dorm. I still do not know what type of dorm I will be living in but I do know that certain colors are likely to just look off no matter what or will not really match unless I purchase a few accessories to match. By accessories, I mean lamps, pencil holders, photo/picture frames, computer cases/screens, alarm clocks and bedside compartments. Not that you will for sure have all of these things but if the color is spread throughout the room a little better, it will just make everyone feel better and it will be much more pleasing to the eye.

In conclusion, I would just like to say that you should probably stick with what you had growing up if you liked it. Those types of sheets and bedding material. That is likely to make you feel the most at home at college and will be good for you. You will feel better, less homesick and have a much better time at college. I hope that you learned something from this article and you follow this advice. I also hope that you have a wonderful one, two, three, four, or more years at college!
