Believing in God makes one feel that he or she is not alone in this big big world. "You are not alone." These four words are immensely reassuring. It feels good to have someone constantly on your side, to feel that you are doing God's work. He has meant for you to do what you are doing right now. However, as we have been able to see from observing young children at play, human beings are extremely imaginative creatures. I'm sure many of us had imaginary playmates when we were younger, we talk to our imaginary playmates and we always have someone to play with. But we outgrew these fantasies as we grow up and we become mature adults who can either find real companions to partake the activities that we are interested in or we enjoy the solitude that we have and can still enjoy the pleasure of our hobbies on our own. That is part of growing up.
We need to understand that we are alone, and it is not a bad thing. We are strong enough to live our lives the way we want to. If believing in God is what you want to do, go ahead. But please do not be a puppet of the Church, believing everything that the church says simply because they claim to be the only way you can go to heaven and live with your Papa in the skies. Do not believe them when they tell you that you will be punished if you do not do what they say, because what they say is what the bible says. It is hogwash. Remember Santa Claus? You better not cry and you better not be naughty because Santa Claus will know and he won't give you your presents if you are naughty? It's all a conspiracy to make you behave, to toe the line. It is not wrong to behave yourselves, I am not advocating violence or crime. But live your life the way you want it to be. If believing in God restricts your dreams, don't listen anymore.
