The answer to this question is, yes! A great many of us see these day's as a bonus
Having lost my father over twenty five years ago. Some people really don't understand why I look forward to this holiday, each and every year. Well my friends, let me explain if I may. Although most of us try to show how much we actually care about our parent's every day of our life's. The truth is, life is entirely too hectic and fast paced these days and I don't care how great you may believe your memory may be. It's an inevitable fact that some of us, do indeed forget how much our parents mean to us! So for myself and most of the people I know. Having a little reminder to do something a little special for your parents, is a no-brainer as far as we're concerned!
Because of the fast pace of life in general. The majority of us really come to appreciate, a day set aside strictly for our parents! After all, where would any of us be without the love and guidance of the two most important people in our life? For myself, definitely not where I am today; I mean this monetarily of course. But most importantly I mean emotionally, morally and spiritually! I truthfully shudder at the thought of where I may have wound up, without the guidance and moral understanding my Mother and Father showed to me throughout my life!
Just recently, it was brought to my attention that these holidays were a frivilous waste of time, money, and emotions. While I do apologize to those who feel that way. I personally couldn't disagree with you more! As I mentioned earlier in this article, having had my own father pass away so many years ago. This particular day gives me the opportunity to remember the things that my Dad loved to do so much, and that is what I will do on this and every Fathers Day to come! He loved the outdoors and would go hunting or fishing or just take a nice long drive in the country. So I will take the opportunity I've been given, to do exactly what he would have done on this most important of day's.
Just in case I haven't mentioned it, I totally understand how this may be a time of great sadness for someone who has lost a parent. I myself felt this way for years. Until I came to the realization that my Father would have wanted me to remember the wonderful things we used to do together, on Father's day! So now, instead of it being a day of sadness. It's a day of fun and great memories and this, my friends, is why I look forward to this particular day, each and every year!
