I am 26 years old , and I just moved to a town where I know absolutley no one. Im only like an hour from where I used to live, but most of my " so called " friends are way to busy to visit anymore. Its an out of site out of mind kind of thing.
I decided to try this myspace website, to try to relocate some of my long lost friends, it worked I found about 4 girls who I just adored in highschool. I was so excited I started to message them immediatley. I was also pleased with their responses. They were happy to hear from me. I started to write more often . We decied to get together. I dont know why but I just expected it to be like old times, laughing, telling jokes, and shopping. Once we all got together it hit me, I was no longer part of the group. I was away from them all for so long that they had their own inside jokes, and other newer friends. All of a sudden I felt like I was in highschool, it was terrible. My heart basically fell into my chest as I still smiled and pretended to enjoy myself.
Its funny how fast things change how you remember thnings just how they were in the past and then it hits you that 10 years have gone by. I can only imagine how hard it is going to be once I am old and grey. The past will always be the past I guess, and we have to hold on to our memories and make newer ones ro remember. That is what I intend to do, even though my old friends did change.
