The best teaching jobs for retired teachers

The best teaching job for a retired teacher is to tutor individually or in small groups. Retired teachers tend to become more frustrated earlier or do not want to teach for long periods of time. Tutoring offers the best of both worlds. It allows retired teachers to still teach but to limit their hours. They can even only teach once a week, one child. It depends on what the retired teacher wants. This is why I believe that this is one of the best jobs for a retired teacher.

I know many retired teachers who do not really want to be retired but who do not want to do anything else. They do not want to spend all day working but they do want to work and they do want to do something. Tutoring is an excellent idea for them because it involves their previous education. They also can be super flexible. If they'd like they could tutor one child a week for two hours. It can be very easy, very simple and very convenient. If I was a retired teacher, I know this is what I'd like to do.

Lastly, I would just like to point out that retired teachers, if they truly had a love of teaching, would love to teach again. Maybe not for a long period of time or anything, but to teach again. They would simply love that. Even if they did not, they would be very qualified in teaching others and so they could easily land a wonderful job tutoring for any number of people. It is also a wonderful way to make some cash. Retired teachers, depending upon the area they live in, can make anywhere from $15 to $50 an hour. This is great money for the occasional purchase.

Tutoring is also a wonderful experience for a retired teacher because they are able to teach like they love but they can give that individual attention to one individual student. They do not have to teach a multitude of people. It is very nice for them and many retired teachers will enjoy it more than teaching a large classroom full of people. I have met many retired teachers who absolutely adore teaching in a tutoring format much more than they ever did teaching a large classroom full of students. I myself, as a tutor, enjoy the personal interaction. The money also is not bad. Sometimes you can make more from tutoring just one person instead of teaching an entire classroom. In many cities, especially, tutoring is a rather large business. Keeping this in mind, I feel that for a retired teacher, tutoring is by far their best employment option.
