The starlight silhouette
As I watch you leave
Taking with you everything
That meant anything to me
The glimmer fades
As you leave this place
And I can feel it empty out
Every memory we had
Was discarded and taken
Out with the trash
All those bright and sunny summer days
Were so great
But now seem so far away
With each step
I watch you forget me
With each thought I keep regretting
Every mistake I made
Every step, as you walk away
Takes me farther from what I was
Wish I still had what we were
Hope and a prayer from above
Won't bring me back to her

Poetry: You're gone
by Jon Coe
I go to work, I come home
I sometimes talk to you, on the phone
I watch TV, I go to bed
I didn't hear, what you said
You pack
The starlight silhouette
As I watch you leave
Taking with you everything
That meant anything to me
The glimmer
Each day I awoke I felt your presence
That pressure on me was so immense
For I was but a child too
And I just didn't know what
What happened mother dear?
You gave birth to me,
Then parted ways,
Perhaps out of fear.
I grew up not knowing why,
I asked
Ever touch, every word
Was a lie.
Every moment wasted
You’ve forgotten.
Every time your eyes snag mine
I know that
