How household chores can help with weight loss

Did you know that doing your household chores daily, and keeping your abode tidy burns the same amount of calories as jogging for 57 hours. Doing chores such as vacuuming, sweeping, dusting and washing your car have aerobic benefits. No longer do you have to worry about paying gym or housekeeping fee's. You can easily lose many pounds by simply doing your chores!

If your like any average American, you're probably so busy rushing around just living your day to day life. Whether your running after your kids, taking them to daycare, afterschool programs, or too busy with work always running back and forth. It's hard to stay fit. I mean let's face it, most of us don't have the time to go to the gym 3 times a week for an hour or longer. We have so many other things to do, to keep up with it's hard to also keep up with our figures. But you don't have to let your body suffer from your career, or from being a mother or even both.

According to recent studies, cleaning your house will not only help with building long lean muscles, but also help you flex your joints. Both very important aspects you may be missing doing other exercise regimens. The numbers really add up, take a look at how many calories you can burn doing these relatively simple household chores.

"Keeping the house tidy annually burns the same number of calories found in 603 glasses of wine, 192 bars of chocolate, 369 cans of fizzy drink, 146 cheeseburgers or 394 packs of crisps." Reference

Already doing these chores and still not helping with weight loss? Try bumping them up a bit. Do a few push-ups in between laundry loads, do some lunges while vacuuming and sweeping, or even put on some dance music and dance whilst doing all your daily chores. If that doesn't sound like it's for you, here's some more:

1. Wear a pedometer (a little fancy ticker that counts how many steps you take) and try to take 10,000 steps a day.

2. While folding laundry, put them in smaller piles. The smaller the pile, the more often you have to walk back and forth.

3. Jog up and down your stairs if you have a split-level abode. If you really don't want to jog, take 2 stairs at a time. This alone, will tone your butt and leg muscles.

4. Power walk, or jog when you take out the garbage, or if you live in a apartment you can do this while walking to the mail box.

Incorporating these fairly easy tasks, every one of us can find a way to burn more calories daily.
