When you first find out that you are expecting so many thoughts run through your mind. Some of the thoughts that run through my mind with every pregnancy is whether or not I'm having a boy or a girl, and if my baby is healthy. Of course, Ultrasound can detect up to seventy percent of birth defects, and tell how the baby is doing in terms of development.

With my first pregnancy I was scared to death. I was only fourteen and didn't know what to expect at first. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was ten years ago. I was going to a neighborhood clinic that had a day for teen parents to come in and get prenatal care. Which was good, because it made us feel more comfortable with our situation. I rushed home with my copy of the ultrasound. I showed all of my friends and my sister-in-law. I didn't know what I was having, but I did know that I was having a healthy baby.

My second pregnancy was planned. I knew right away that I was pregnant. I went to my first prenatal visit so excited to be pregnant. When the time came for my ultrasound, once again I was nervous. My first pregnancy resulted in a girl and I wanted a boy so bad. My boyfriend and I arrived on time for our appointment. They called us back and started the ultrasound. Looking at my baby for the first time was breathtaking. I found out that it was a girl, and was disappointed yet still happy to be pregnant. The doctor came in and told me that my baby was about two weeks underweight. I was surprised. For one, I thought I was eating enough,
