Drinking plenty of water is directly related to your health. If you don't get enough water in your diet you will become dehydrated and experience other heath related problems. The human body is made up of 65% of water. Every day you lose water due to breathing, sweating, and urination. Your body also loses extra water in the hot summer weather and when you exercise.
If you happen to be sick with the flu or some other illness you can become dehydrated even faster. Illnesses can leave your body losing fluids left and right. This can include profuse sweating from a fever and vomiting. This is why you should drink plenty of fluids when you are sick. You have to replace all of the lost liquid or you will suffer even more.
The signs for dehydration can range from the vaguely annoying to putting you in a hospital bed for a few days. Dehydration can cause dry mouth, mistaken hunger and fewer trips to the bathroom. More serious side effects of dehydration can be fatigue, headaches, back aches, muscle spasms, fever, low blood pressure and rapid heartbeat.
Getting the right amount of water daily can also help you loose weight. If you do not drink enough, sometimes your body will misread your thirst as hunger, then you will consume extra calories. Drinking enough water can help you feel fuller and less hungry. If you drink a glass of water a half an hour before eating a meal you will fill fuller and eat less.
Drinking the recommended daily 8 to 10 glasses of water can have an impact on your skin. If you want glowing healthy looking skin make sure to stay hydrated. If you have dry skin but want softer skin just try drinking more water.
Water can help in the regulation of digestion and elimination. If you want to keep your body running smoothly and stay regular you will need to consume water. The water you drink helps to break down the food you eat and keeps your digestive issues on the right track. If constipation is a problem water can help solve the problem naturally.
If you eat many packaged and processed foods you can use water to help your body flush out toxins. The water you drink will help dilute the preservatives and other toxins in your body. These days our diets are littered with many unnatural ingredients, most of the time our bodies do an excellent job of getting rid of them. Sometimes our bodies can use a helping hand to remove the toxins and water can be just what your body needs.
There are many health benefits of drinking enough water on a daily basis. Some other benefits to getting enough water are: reducing headaches, lowering risk of heart attack and regulating body temperature. Do something good for your body today and drink eight glasses of water.
