With reference to Holy Days, I do not write this article to chatter endlessly about the vain respecting of that which no longer serves any Spiritual purpose. To me it is just a lot of pomp and pageantry which is no more than an outward show of an inward ignorance. I apologize if I offend with my words but my life after finding Jesus has been aimed toward the Spiritual Realm and how to walk and function in it. Respecting of Holy Days never took me there. And I do not say that there is anything wrong with the respecting of Holy Days, but one's entire system of beliefs ought not to be founded on this, as is the case with many. It reaches the point where all we ever do is ramble endlessly on about Holy Days and the actual Spiritual meaning of them is lost in the ranting.

I do not believe that Christmas has been lost (to the true Christian) as a Holy Day? To say that Christmas has been lost as a holy day would be to say that Jesus has been lost as Christianity's example and I do not believe that to be true. We can speak of Christmas in terms of the commercialization it has been noted for but this has very little to do with the real meaning of Christmas. I say here that the commercial part of Christmas has very little to do with the actual meaning of the day, but I do not say that it has nothing at all to do with it, as there were those who originally came bearing gifts for the Christ Child as He lay in the manger. These gifts were an offering to the Savior of mankind and I believe that it is acceptable for mankind to then give gifts in His Holy name. However, I will also admit that many of us do get very carried away in the commercial aspect of this and tend to forget about what it symbolizes. When we cross the threshold into give-to-receive we are entering into error. This is not what the giving was, or is, all about.

Christmas Day is a celebration of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and should be celebrated each and every day that we are yet alive on this earth. It seems, however, that if we attend a church service at all during the year, it is reserved for Christmas Day Service and the remainder of the year we don't even think about attending church. I am not certain that there is too much wrong with this with the exception that the Bible tells us not to forsake the gathering of ourselves together and that applies to the entire year and not to just those days we consider to be Holy. In a manner of speaking then, yes, Christmas has been lost as a Holy Day, but that doesn't mean that it cannot be reclaimed. Our Lord and Savior isn't lost and He knows exactly what to do, if we would only return to Him as ask for His help.

What our nation as a whole needs is a Spiritual Revival and a complete, faith oriented, overhaul. The Day of the Lord is nearer today than it was only yesterday and we Christians cannot afford to be failing in this great hour of need. Yes, we can reclaim that which we have lost! Jesus speaks this sort of thing all through the New Testament and I personally believe that there is literally nothing lost which cannot be reclaimed through Jesus.
