I finally was able to go see the latest Star Trek movie. I had heard all of the hype that it is good. I had refused to hear anything about the movie until I saw it. I didn't want anything to spoil it for me. I also wanted to make sure that I actually went to see it in the movie theatre. I would have been really upset if I did not.
As for the latest movie in the whole Star Trek Franchise, the movie is very good. The one thing I heard is do not expect to know everything before seeing this movie as you will be disappointed. Knowing some things may be beneficial, but yet other things may hurt you. The whole thing is, you do not want to have a high bar going in as you will be disappointed.
You are probably asking what is this movie is all about? It's about Kirk and how he became the captain of the enterprise, but that is not all. It's about racing in time to save them from a disaster that could destroy their worlds and the people in it.
In this movie, you see things that you have never seen before when it came to Kirk, Spock and the rest of the enterprise crew. They do some things with their earlier lives, but not a whole lot. I was disappointed with that though as it would have been nice if they would have gone into depth, but maybe they cut a lot of scene due to time.
Because of some of the history that I had seen in some of the Star Trek movies, some of the parts of the movie made me laugh and cry. Even though you do not have the original people playing the characters, you still understand it what is really happening.
I think that the acting was well done. I really think that this gave a new life to the whole series that we have needed. Star Trek has not created any new series or movies in a long time and this is something that the fans have been looking forward too. I know that I have been looking forward to this movie since I heard that they were making this movie.
Honestly, I like what they did with some of the special effects. More specifically the way they did the transporting. It's different, but I like it. I don't like what they did with the Romulans. When I watched the movie, the Romulans looked like a whole different species. I expected to see them in one way, but they were not what I was accustomed to seeing them. There were no ridges or anything on the Romulans in the movie. If you have not seen the movie, go see it. It's a very good movie.
If you have never seen a Star Trek show or movie, still go and see it as you really don't need to know Star Trek to see this movie. Yes, it may help, but it's not a requirement.
