Poetry: Longing for your love

by Carlos Hurworth

Created on: June 19, 2009

when i escape from everything,

to the mundane,

where only i exist,

my ears filled with a hypnotic sound,

though i think i am alone

i find her there.

she sings to me -

i am possessed -

for a moment i waver,

like a part of me leaves,

desperately seeking her.

i catch myself before i fall.

amazed, i still wonder why

(but who can explain what cannot be touched?)

i wish to have her again,

and over again

(my heart bleeds words)

for i cannot stop the flow.

I feel it impossible to show my gratitude

- nothing comes close to expressing my awe.

i tell her endlessly,

infinitely,

repeating myself again

(you're so beautiful).

will nothing help me understand

just how ive come to be as such?

how precious is the journey?

how long?

how far?

(searching where ive never searched before)

her absence makes me wonder,

(as sure as she will make me smile,

weak, helpless to her)

i will wonder when she will be before me yet again.

in the meantime,

i write,

reminding me of how beautiful she is.
