Movie reviews: Angels & Demons

Afraid of watching "Angels and Demons" after many friends had advised against it, I still found myself in the theatre watching the follow up to "The Da Vinci Code" and was surprised at how thought-provoking and intriguing the plot and overall creation of the movie was. After being in this theatre for about two hours, I was surprised that I had been sitting at the edge of my seat throughout the entire movie awaiting the next clue. So what is it that makes the film "Angels and Demons" so intriguing?

"Angels and Demons" is a film that tries to unite and highlight the parallels between science and religion. The film probably receives bad reviews from those that are on one side of the debate. Being someone that does not let her beliefs rest solely on that of science or religion; I was intrigued at how the film highlighted parallels between the two that I had already seen. Science and religion are both out to give an answer to the same thing. For those that are religion the answer is simply God, where for scientists they have all of the components of the answer but do not know exactly what the answer is. Can the two go together? "Angels and Demons" plays on the concept that they may or may not but that they are so busy trying to disprove the other that even if they were joined together; we would never let it be.

"Angels and Demons" is not only an intriguing film because of thoughts that it provokes in the great and endless debate of science and religion but also a great experience as it allows the audience to travel through the Vatican. For many the beautiful sights of Rome are nothing but a dream or an image in a text book. The film places the images right in front of the viewers eyes and allows them to feel like they're experiencing the sights first-hand. The set of the film is absolutely spectacular and gives your eyes a wonderland to keep itself entertained for the full two hours. The set also adds emphasis in the excitement for the plot. The plot and the set work hand-in-hand in keeping the viewer intrigued and hooked onto every second of the film.

In my opinion, "Angels and Demons" is a 5 star movie. It has a great cast with extraordinary acting skills, a great set and an excellent plot that keeps the viewer intrigued throughout the entire film. For any that have been scared to view the film due to previous bad reviews; I advise you to ignore those other views and experience the movie for yourself. It is an experience that you will not regret.
