Wake Up Call

My, my eyes are sore with the smoke tonight
From the car down the road some kids just set alight
The cops are busy, beating up the gays
Meanwhile in the park a girl gets raped
I just come back from casualty wing
'cause I cut myself on a stray syringe
This is your wake up call

Is it me, or is it just my age?
Muggers just look younger every day
Someone said we need another war
To stop the overcrowding of the poor
In Burnley they boast that they're free
By voting for the BNP
This is your wake up call

We want to heal the sick & hear the lame
We want to help all those who are insane
We want to find them shelter, oh so dear
Anywhere as long as it's not here
I read an obituary last night that said
In the third row down "God is dead"
This is your wake up call
