MY DIET PLAN, NOT YOURS
one trip buffet on a Monday
i ate too much
but, didn't gain a pound
the prune juice sucked.
i had a bagel for lunch
and before that
i last ate a steak
drank some milk
and a chocolate shake
made myself sick
by reliving every last taste
my boyfriend asked me to dinner
i accepted the offer
and gorged on belgian waffles
i'm not trying to add on pounds
i know how that sounds!
he's very picky
so i better stay skinny
i'm getting more sex
doing more crunches
and shedding those inches
with my late-night purges
a strained rib here
an stomach ulcer there
am i a bulimec?
no, i'm just very aware.

Buffet lunch
all you can eat
even the dessert
coating stomach walls
teased the intestinal tracts.
Then
evening casted
She woke up with the memory
Still burning her throat
Retching, heaving, nearly choking
Tears streaming from her
