Scrapbooking is a hobby that is popular for a multitude of reasons. It's something that nearly anyone can do, and it is a thoughtful gift that can be given to a variety of people. In the last five years or so, the hobby has spread like wildfire. One of the reasons that it is so popular is that many of the tools that you need to make a scrapbook (at least the simple tools), are things that everyone has already lying around the house. You have all that you need right under your nose to create a masterpiece, providing that you are willing to gather it all together and sit down to use it in a scrapbook. You have the photo's, the scissors, the glue, the scraps, and the memorabilia that can be incorporated into the pages of a storybook.

-It is easy

Okay, it can be easy or difficult, depending on your style. Basically though, scrapbooking is an easy hobby. It can help you let off steam at the end of a long day and allows you to sift through items that you already have. It can be as complicated as you wish to make it, or it can be as simple as you want it to be. Of course, these days, scrapbooking is easier than ever because there are always new tools and high tech equipment being introduced all of the time to make it easier and simpler.

-It is creative

Scrapbooking is also popular because it lets you get creative and use your imagination. This is especially wonderful if you have a boring job that doesn't get your imagination going. If you are stuck in a dull office job all day, you will find it far more interesting sitting down at a table and adding color and embellishments to the 'paperwork' you now have in front of you.

-It is handy

You can find scrapbook tools and supplies everywhere. You don't have to visit a craft store especially if you are short on time (or know that you will be in the craft store for hours upon hours if you do go). You can pick up different items at different stores, like Walmart, Target, and even your local drug-stores.

-It is fun!

Scrapbooking is popular because it is such fun to do. It is a hobby that you can share with friends and family (both when you are in the midst of working on one and afterwards), and even create parties for your craft. Scrapbooking is also fun because it allows you to sift through old pictures and memories and decide which ones are worth sharing.

Whether scrapbooking is one of those hobbies that will remain popular or not, the memorable scrapbooks made along the way will be loved for years to come. Scrapbooking is a simple hobby that anyone can do, and in any way that you want to do it. You don't even have to be particularly creative or artsy to make a scrapbook, adding to the many reasons that it is such a popular hobby.
