Where to Find Great Article Ideas to Write About

Most writers at one time or another has had the experience of sitting in front of their blank computer screens without a clue on what to write about. If this is happening to you, do not fret. Here are some great ways to get inspired by new ideas.

Visit a Forum Based on One of your Favorite Subjects

Visit a forum based on one of your favorite subjects, (photography, spirituality, craft making, making money on the internet, etc.) and see what people are talking about. Look at what kinds of questions are being asked. These are perfect article ideas. A little quick research on your own and you can not only have an awesome article, but the perfect place to advertise it.

Use Newspapers and Magazines

Look at newspapers headlines, but most especially magazines. I've gotten many ideas simply by looking at article titles they list right on the front cover. I pick up article ideas even while standing in line at the grocery store. I just take notice of the article titles on 2 or 3 covers while I am waiting and run home to do quick research and write them up when I get home.

Take Advantage of the Library.

The library can probably be considered one of your best resources. You can get lost in there for hours. You can find how-to books on just about any subject from sewing, fishing, decorating, dieting, etc. There are so many wonderful ideas that you can pick up. Quite often, there will be many in just one book. Go online to do a little further research to round out your article.

Article Directories Online

Places like ezinearticles.com, buzzle.com, and goarticles.com are also great places to get ideas. Simply go look under any subject that interests you and you will find tons of titles you can get ideas from.

Breaking News Stories

The great thing about breaking news stories is that people immediately want to know more about them. Simply reading a few headlines in the early morning can have you writing an article that will get tons of traffic over the next few days.

Look For the Hot Trends

Luckily there are lot of websites that can tell you what is hot right now and getting hotter. Sites like, Dogpile Searchspy, Google Trends, Pandia.com. Trendcentral.com, Yahoo Buzz Index, Trendhunter.com, Alexa.com and more. Go see what people are looking for to give yourself some creative ideas.

Write about things you are Personally Curious About.
