No person can really be sure about this question until it really happens. Put it into perspective, if all Bibles were banned and you would get put in prison for having one, wouldn't you memorize verses like crazy before it was taken? Or would it just gather dust like so many are already?

History shows that for many years, Christians did survive without the Bible. They needed a lot of help from prophets and several disciples, but they did survive. My opinion is those who lived without the Bible were more Christian than those who live with it today.

They had to keep Christ's word in their hearts and minds, we can just look it up whenever we decide to.

They remembered the teachings and love of Christ. Some Christians do that today, but there are less than those who followed closely then.

Just think, it was more difficult to convince people back then. Today, we can say "It's right here in the Bible..." Then, everything had to be explained by the person who was evangelizing.

Even Jesus had a difficult time convincing some, and he performed miracles! I know if I could explain things the right way, more people would follow Christ.

We also have better facilities today, back then if one were to go to listen to one of Jesus' sermons, they would travel for miles and sit on a grassy hillside or on the ground, they didn't have folding chairs or pews back then. Then they would have to be in the hot sun for hours just to hear what Jesus' point or moral was. In the end it would be worth it because they would go home to their family and say that they heard Jesus speak.

I would be amazed if that happened to me. Then I would remember the whole thing and live with that teaching for the rest of my life! Therefore is the point for my answer in why Christians would be able to survive without the Bible (You would have to be very good at speaking, and you would have to have a pretty good memory!) It goes to our advantage as well, people wouldn't be able to tell Christians to "Prove it!" When they hear something that is in the bible and we don't have Bibles anymore.

We could just say, You have to trust me which is rare in these times. Most people don't trust Christians anymore, because of the hypocrisy and the lies of some Christians that have been in the spotlight. People have to realize that Christians aren't perfect, only Christ is and we are humans also. All humans sin and make mistakes, so Christians are part of that group. The big difference is that some so-called Christians do the same bad things over and over and call other people hypocrites. My husband has said Christians can't be hypocrites without the Bible. It may hurt a lot, but that statement says a lot about Christians and how they live today.

If Christians really lived without the Bible, they would be more humble and more reliant on the Holy spirit guiding them. There is a definite possibility that Christians would be able to survive without the Bible.
