Darkness Comes
As darkness closes in,
As daylight disappears,
I seek a sight within,
And wash away the years.
The colors there before,
The blackness dark behind,
A hint of nevermore,
Secrets of a kind.
Blackness now surrounds,
Despair is almost here,
Depression knows no bounds,
On a deserted sphere.
But what do I now see?
An orb is rising fast.
With brightness in degrees,
Darkness it does blast.
Yesterday is done,
The night is here full force,
Depression, darkness gone,
Along with all remorse.
The world is clothed in light,
A gentleness surrounds,
Gently, softly bright,
It muffles every sound.
All things are at rest,
The world in stillness sleeps,
How beautiful and blest,
God his people keeps.
