As a writer, I have been paid by Associated Content on a regular basis. In fact, I have been paid by Associated Content almost every month since I started on the site. The payments have not always been large but they have been regular.
There are some things everyone should know about the payment system on Associated Content.
Payments are direct to Paypal
Associated Content does not send a check to the mailbox each month. Few, if any, internet writing sites do. Associated Content sends payments directly to a registered Paypal account. This process ensures the security of the transactions and the continued security of the Associated Content writers. A Paypal account is required to receive payment from Associated Content. The same is true for Helium.
Payments occur no matter the amount
Associated Content does not have a minimum amount for a payment. When the transaction between the writer and the site is confirmed, the payment is sent. The method of payment can create some confusion determining if the writer has been paid for a specific article. This is especially true if there are a large number of articles submitted.
Helium does require a $25 balance to send a payment. The benefit to this is ease of tracking payments. Helium also pays one time per month, which allows the dollar amount to increase over time.
Confirmation of the Associated Content account is required
Due to the rise in identity theft and online fraud, Associated Content recently added a new security measure with confirmation. All accounts must be confirmed through a simple one time process with a phone call of text message. The message gives the Associated Content member a code to enter into the site and confirm the member information on the site. The process was simple and quick to complete. However, anyone who did not complete this process would no longer be eligible for payments. This could be the only possible explanation for lack of payment from Associated Content.
Understanding the Earning Methods on Associated Content
Associated Content offers several means for payment on their sire but there are two main ways writers are paid. Associated Content offers upfront payments and residual or performance based payments for each article.
Upfront Payments
Associated Content offers upfront payments for articles that have not been previously published anywhere before. These payments can range anywhere from one dollar to five dollars. Exclusive content does bring higher upfront payments. By writing specifically for first time online publication, Associated Content does pay on a regular basis.
Performance Payments
Associated Content pays their writers based on the number of page views accumulated by their content during the previous month. Associated Content pays a base rate of $1.50 per one thousand page views. The rate increases as the writer rises in the clout index. The rise is slow but will come eventually as more content is submitted and the page views rise.
Are writers paid for submitting content to Associated Content? Of course they are and exactly as the site spells out in their agreements. Before joining any writing website or submitting content be clear on how and when the site pays their writers. Take time to carefully consider the rights, rate of payments and methods of payment before making the commitment to write for a website.
