How to take advantage of the empty title bonus

by David Dewitt

Created on: June 16, 2009

One of the many features that Helium offers for its writers is the Empty Title Bonus. Helium offers a bonus for each article that is the first in a title group. For each article filling one of the empty titles the writer will receive a one dollar bonus plus the upfront payment based on their writing stars.

The goal of Helium is to spread knowledge. It is difficult to spread knowledge when there are no articles within the title group. Helium sought to solve the problem by creating the Empty Title Bonus. The bonus offers an incentive to writers who actively seek out empty titles.

How do writers find these empty titles?

Helium makes it easy to find these empty articles but writers need to know where to search. There are three basic places to find empty titles on the Helium site.

Title Finder

The Helium Title Finder is an excellent way to uncover empty articles. Using the Title Finder is simple. Type the keyword for the desired search in to the search bar, then select the empty title option to the lower right and start the search. The Title Finder will create a list of all the titles matching the search criteria. Each title will be listed individually and will have the option to view the title group.

Be sure to check the title group to determine if there are no articles for title. There are times when articles have submitted and have not registered a number with the title. Before expecting an empty title be sure that the title is indeed empty.

Member Page

Each time Helium members log in to their member page a list of new or empty articles is listed. There are always a variety of topics and subject available. Take a few moments when logging in to check the topics and titles that are available for the bonus. There are new titles every day just waiting for writers to be the first to submit.

There are some limitations on the channels that offer the empty title bonus. Double check the channel or sub-channel to ensure that the section is entitled to empty article bonuses.

Channel or Sub-channel Pages

The channel or sub-channel pages will also list empty titles within their channels. The listings are usually at the bottom of the page. These lists are normally kept up to date and offer an excellent resource for uncovering the empty titles.

Suggest a Title

Another way to find empty articles is to create them. Helium offers the Suggest a Title option for their members as a way of expanding their article base. Write an article that is not already within the Helium title database and then suggest the title to Helium. If the title is accepted, the member suggesting the title will be the first notified through e-mail. Use the link in the e-mail to post the article and score on the Empty Title Bonus.

The Helium Empty Title Bonus is a plus for members to increase the income from their writing. Use these tips to find and then post on the empty titles on Helium. Take advantage of the bonus and earn a little extra on those articles.
