I don't know whether to laugh or cry reading these. The Bush Cheney legacy will be that they lied to the American people, Congress and to the world when they gave the reasons they did for going to war in Iraq. If you don't already know this to be fact, there is plenty of proof on the Internet for anyone who wants to know the truth. And last time I checked, it is a federal crime to lie to congress and to start a war based on lies. The only thing in question is how much both Bush and Cheney knew from the beginning, and yet I am sure both of them will lie about what they were and were not informed of, as they proceeded to start their bogus war.

Two days after the 9/11 attacks, the Bush administration was trying to find a link between Bin Laden and Saddam as an excuse to go to war in Iraq. When they were told by numerous individuals there was NO connection, they went ahead with their plans anyway. They IGNORED the reports and findings that they were given and we went to war in Iraq despite the facts that they were given. Iraq and Saddam had NOTHING to do with the 9/11 attacks on American soil. This has been proved enough that it doesn't even need mentioning.

Then, there was all the hype and scare tactics in order to get approval from the American people. Terrorists attacked the United States and yet we didn't go after them. Instead, The Bush administration chose to attack Iraq and call it the " war on terror." The "war on terror" was a farce. Saddam had not attacked us, the Iraqi's did not attack us and yet here were Bush and Cheney slamming lies and untruths down our throats. I am only surprised and disgusted the media closed their eyes and minds to all of this as it was happening.

The " war on terror" was actually over in a very short time frame. This too went ignored by most of the American public and by the media as well, another shame. The war began in March of 2003. On April 9th Baghdad fell ending Saddam's rule. On April 15th the coalition declared the invasion was effectively over. On May 1st Bush declared victory on the U.S. Abraham Lincoln. So why was it that we were at " war" for so long after that? Truth is, we weren't. Within a month and a half, we were no longer fighting an Iraqi military or government at all. We were fighting insurgents. We could stay in Iraq for 50 years and still be fighting insurgents . And yet, how quickly we forget during the debates how McCain laughed at Obama for wanting troop withdrawal. In fact, he said we would risk coming home in " defeat" if we followed Obama's plan. Defeat? How could we be defeated when the actual WAR was OVER ?

It is so sad and pathetic how easily we are fooled, how quickly we forget and how often we turn a blind eye. And now? Obama is being blamed for the economic meltdown we are now facing that BEGAN and is a direct result of the Bush administration. Poor Obama stepped into a HUGE pile of doodoo when he took office and now he has a HUGE mess to clean up. But it is NOT a result of anything Obama has done, it all began LONG before he took office. You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't treat us ALL like we are ignorant. Sorry Rush, but contrary to what your narrow little mind thinks, most of the American people are well aware this economical crisis is NOT Obama's making. He is simply the one left to clean up the mess, but he sure as heck didn't make it.
