I believe that we are all, as Christians, called to be Missionaries. In Matthew 28:19 & 20, Jesus commanded, "Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost teaching them..." Then, in Acts 1:8, it says, that "Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses, in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth." The word Missionary, means, called, or sent on a Mission. As Christians, Christ's followers, we are all sent, by God to go and witness, even to the uttermost ends of the earth. Jesus, is the one who gave us the authority and the command to go. The Holy Spirit, is the enabler, to complete the task at hand. For it is through this that we receive that power, to become His witnesses, not on our own power, but through Him!
I am a Local Missions Representative in our own home/local church body. This means that I am the liaison between those on the field and the church body here at home. I am continually challenging the church of our place in the body of Christ, as believers. That indeed, we are all called, sent to go out on a Mission to see souls saved. My Ministry is called, W.O.W ~G2G Ministries. Which stands for, Winning our World - Generation to Generation Ministries! I enter the pulpit, once a month, and bring a monthly prayer focus for Missions and a challenge of what we as a body, can do to be involved. I've challenged them with goals such as: letter writing, prayers, short term missions trips, handing out tracts and pamphlets locally, distributing to food banks and such, and much more! There is so much that the local church, the local Christian, can do, to really be a Missionary on Home Soil, right here in America! North America, for that matter, today, is a bigger mission field, than the world at large. Christianity is being seen as some "right wing" agenda, and not for the relationship with Jesus Christ, that it really is about. Morals are being set aside, and values are being seen as old fashioned, and out dated. Our schools have become war zones, that our children enter in to daily. Our jobs, are dog eat dog, every one trying to get ahead at any cost. Our family unit is being deteriorated away at, with marriage between a husband and wife being constantly challenged and even mocked. At no other time in History has so much of a challenge been seen to share Christ, right here in modern day North America! I strongly feel
