Novel excerpts: The mysterious discovery

THE DEMON WITHIN THE OMINOUS ORACLE

Joseph Johahnson could feel It's ominous grip as he started the incision. The body before him, on the laboratory table, was that of an ancient Greek female. He did not know her mummified body was It's hibernation cocoon.

He abruptly acquired her body when it mysteriously appeared on the elementary school's playground. Marty O'Malley, the chief of police, brought her to Joseph.

Doctor Johahnson had a Master's Degree in Archaeology and Forensic Science. To the small town of Chatawa, Mississippi he was the Coroner.

Chief O'Malley and him were friends since childhood. Joseph left Chatawa long enough for college. O'Malley followed in his family's footsteps as Chatawa's finest. The O'Malleys protected and served this town for two scores and ten years. The Johahnsons and O'Malleys were among the first to settle this quaint small town. However, it was not virgin land to a human society. For the most part Chatawa had a safe and serene atmosphere. Today however, everyone felt a full tilt coming.

The body emerged from the ground on the children's morning recess. They were terrified. The school called the parents, and they arrived in a sea of panic. O'Malley and his posse showed up about the same time. For the first time in Chatawa's history the police had to protect and serve the town from themselves.

After the chaos cleared, O'Malley and his posse could inspect the body. Sergeant Kinsey Quintaan became visibly shaking and the color drained from his face. Although the body was mummified you would think it was bloody and cut to shreds by Kinsey's reactions. He softly fell to his knees and began chanting in his native language. He was a Choctaw Indian, of source.

He claims his Tribe's bloodline has a missing link of an unknown origin. Sergeant Quintaan refused to touch the body. The other officers helped O'Malley placed the body in the back of his squad car. As each of them touched the body a distant stare crossed their face and an eery silence overcame them.

While driving on the way to the morgue, O'Malley experienced a strange feeling of pleasure engulf him. He involuntary visualized the most beautiful
