When I first moved to Riverview, FL there weren't many options available for daycare. At that time, even the closest grocery store was 6 miles away. Things have changed around here in a hurry and now we have several viable options for after school care. Which places are available to you for after school care? Which ones are trustworthy?

My daughter has been attending It's Kidz Time in Riverview for several years now. First as a toddler, then as a pre-schooler and now as an after-schooler. She absolutely loves her teachers and the environment at It's Kidz Time. There are other options available for after school care that might cost less or be more convenient for me but I don't consider those places for one simple reason: they aren't licensed to be childcare centers. Those vans you see driving around Riverview picking up kids for Karate are not coming from places that are licensed to care for children. What they're doing isn't illegal but it's not something that I'm comfortable with for my child. I have seen instances where the van has been left running, full of children, while they get out to pick up more children.

It's Kidz Time is a licensed childcare center. They have won several awards for being the best childcare center in the south county area. They offer infant care, VPK, after school care and of course all the ages in between. They do not provide lunch, but they do provide snacks. During the summer months there are lots of activities scheduled to keep the kids engaged and busy so they aren't sitting around all day. Pottery, computer classes, plays, puppet shows, games and other activities. There are 2 playgrounds. Aside from that, depending on where you live in Riverview, there are a few other places worth mentioning that I've heard good things about:

1. A Child's Adventure (also known as Creative World): Located at 5931 Frond Way in Apollo Beach, FL, you can contact them at (813) 649-1820. This is a fairly new daycare center and they have top of the line toys and computers. They have a suitable curriculum and the staff makes all efforts to make the children and parents happy. Before my daughter attended It's Kidz Time, this is where she went and the only reason I moved her was because It's Kidz Time is much closer to my home.
