The price of arrogance

There's a constant battle-line drawn, when spirituality of the divine nature influences the individual with such insights of the more pure nature, that some are ensued with a sometimes unaware arrogance. When we delve into the pattern of life and strive to achieve the goal of spiritual perfection, we are suddenly opened up as if "the scales are removed" from our eyes and we become more aware of our own weaknesses as well as those of others. Even in that divine pursuit, we sometimes blindly fail ourselves and our fellow man by our perception of the world, to alleviate these unwanted, undesirable illusions we must look through the eyes of another........ Jesus.

When we step back from ourselves and visualize the world through the eyes that become powered by a sense of unconditional love, we suddenly realize, not only the minute size of ourselves, yet also that we share in the common challenges that others face. We were born with innocence and the need to belong and search out, desiring to fulfill our own personal relationship with God. Through trial and error, we learn to not look over our shoulder as the past burns in it's own death throws. By not giving yourself to the understanding of others, you are throwing yourself, symbolically into back into the fire you escaped from.

Jesus, being pure, who was not found in him any sin, himself was subject to the temptations. How then could we call them "the temptations of Jesus?" If Jesus in his pure state could be tempted, then who are we to look down on our brother who is suffering with the conflicts that pursue those who seek true faith. Jesus said, "Let him who is master among you, be the servant..." Jesus, being the master of all things, came as a servant. Ministering, feeding, protecting, healing, etc. Doing all those things, not just because it was right and good, but because it was his nature. Speaking of the innocence and the eagerness to learn that children present, "Except you become as one of these (children) you shall in no way enter the kingdom of heaven."

Children are trusting, harmless as doves. Adults, in our wise as a serpent stage, sometimes overlook how simple it is to gravitate towards a more Christ-like state of mind, by just pursuing our own nature. If there is good in anyone, they will attract the thoughts of a good person. What you want to learn, you will learn only through experience and your own personal journey with God. To invite and allow yourself the entrapment of arrogance, you will be divided against yourself. Looking on others without that full compassion of love (not thought of, but felt) you are sure to lead yourself with a blind eye, believing in redemption that you will never obtain. Jesus spoke, "Evil the devils believe....." Yet, are they saved? To believe, is not to be saved, "Faith without works is dead..." Only a loving heart and innocent compassion to others can reveal the answer, arrogance can lead to the biggest sin of all, when looking back........ the sin of regret.
