How to remember your dad on Father's day

Whether a father that has passed or a father that is still living, here are five great ideas on how to remember your dad on Father's Day. From photos, photo albums, music, poetry, a roast to a dinner in his honor, you will find another way to remember dad on Father's Day.

Photos - - The power of a photograph is priceless. Photos, whether past photos or recent photos, is a great way to remember your father for Father's Day. An empty frame can only collect dust, but place a photo of dad and you as a special moment to share with others, including yourself, for years to come. A beautiful moment to be preserved.

Photo Albums - - Pull out a photo album with photos of dad in his funky seventies pants or riding his banana seat bicycle. A photo album is a great way to remember anyone, including father.

An added plus to the photo idea is to use a digital photo frame. Even though it's popular belief, Americans will not have to change over to digital (frames). Purchase a digital frame, they are actually very useful and holds many photos within one frame.

Music - - Dad's favorite songs, what a way to spend time remembering father. Bring a box of tissues because it only takes up to one song to begin shedding tears, and if your father is alive, it will not take long before you pick up that phone should he be elsewhere.

My father's music which consists of My Blue Heaven, Sleep Walk, anything from Frankie Valley, anything from Frank Sinatra, anything from Julio and other greats. He always had good taste. Listening to your father's favorite tunes can bring back fond memories along with creating new ones.

Poetry - - Sometimes writing helps get the words out. Write a poem in your father's honor surrounding the many ways you remember him by. Not only will this make you feel good, if your father still is alive, he will appreciate reading it or having you read it to him.

Roast in Dad's Honor - - If you are seeking ways to remember your dad on Father's Day through celebration, here is another great idea. Have a roast in your father's honor by inviting all of the people that surrounded or surrounds his life.

We know someone that honored their father through a roast style occasion. Not only was it funny, it was emotional, but mainly it was the gathering of everyone that loves one spirit, one person, one father during Father's Day.

Dinner in Dad's Honor - - Hold a special dinner in dad's honor. Not such a bad idea, especially when the event is held at his favorite restaurant. Have a toast in his honor and enjoy the conversations on memories of dad is a great way to spend Father's Day, with or without.

Video - - Watch a video or record a video of dad just to preserve Father's Day for years to come. Grab some popcorn, take a seat, put your feet up and relive past moments caught on film.

Here are two ways to celebrate Father's Day with dad.

1. Movie - - Watch one of your dad's favorite movies with him, and yes, get out the popcorn and put those feet up. Just remember that dad picks the flick, even if the movie does not fit your taste. Most likely he would pick a black and white with Stewart or something funny with Ben Stiller, or not.

2. Father's Day Dessert - - A Father's day cake is a great way to remember your dad, especially when the cake has his picture on it! More popular than ever, the photograph on a cake. Since each bakery is different in make and price, contacting your local bakery would be best.
