I am amazed by all the people who still believe that the Bible is the word of God, and that it can in no way be changed or altered, because God said it could not be. In fact, there is a great deal of proof that the Bible has been altered. For example, back around 200 A.D., while pagan religions, especially the Wiccan religion, were still the main, the Catholic Church had ALL their priests remove sections of the Bible and destroy them. Many of these removed articles were about Mary and her relationship with Jesus. The truth within the removed texts would have been lost to us forever had it not been for one priest who buried the removed sections in clay jars, rather than destroy them. 1700 years later, a man outside of Jerusalem dug them up. He brought them home and his mother began burning the texts to heat the house. Realizing that these pages held great value, the man took what remained to the local priest. The priest took them to the Vatican and for decades they were hidden away. However, the news of their finding spread and the Vatican had no choice but to offer them up to the public.
What was in these banished writings of the Bible? Many of them showed that Mary was not a whore, as the church made her out to be, but was instead the closest disciple of Jesus. In fact, she would hold sermons along side of Jesus. She was his confidant and there is some evidence, (though much of it was burned away by the mother trying to heat her home), that she may have been the wife of Jesus. Most religious people howl blasphemy when this is said, but common sense of the time that Jesus lived makes the relationship between Jesus and Mary quite plausible. After all, in the days of Jesus, being chaste for life was unimaginable. Were Jesus NOT to have had a woman, it would have been documented somewhere in the bible. Look at the Arab world today. Many of their values are the same as they were thousands of years ago. A man cannot be a man if he has no beard, and he cannot have a beard until he is married. In the case of Jesus, if he did not have a wife, and thus was not considered a man, and was in his 30's, it would not be a little detail that was overlooked. In the banished texts, Jesus is shown to be very affectionate towards Mary. So why take these things out of the Bible? The answer is simple and two fold. First, the Earth Mother was still the predominant religious icon of the day. Her following was not wiped out until the crusades many hundreds of years later.
