Reasons why scrapbooking is so popular

Scrapbooking is a popular craft because there are no hard and fast rules, it's relatively inexpensive and the results make great gifts and keepsakes. Crafters of all ages and walks of life are quickly adopting this fast growing craft that allows each person to choose the style, cost and how simple or fancy their scrapbook will be as well as what they include. Here are a few of the other reasons scrapbooking is so popular.

*No Hard And Fast Rules

In scrapbooking your are in charge, there are no rules you have to follow. You choose the format, the colors, the time covered, and even the book to put it in. You don't need a kit or anyone else's designs, just a little imagination, some time for fun and a desire to capture your memories in a scrapbook.

*So Simple Anyone Can Do It

Even grade school children can create a scrapbook. You don't need to be an artsy crafty person to do a scrapbook, as a matter of fact you need no artistic ability at all to showcase the event of your choice in a memory book to keep forever. Scrapbooks never have to end, you can start where you want and continue it throughout your life or you can do a simple scrapbook that covers only one event.

*You Decide What To Spend

You can create a terrific scrapbook without buying any specialized tools or materials. The very basic needs are a book, photos, ruler, glue, scissors and some colored paper. One note on the paper; be sure it is acid proof if you want your scrapbook to last a long time.

If, you want to go all out, you can buy fancy stamps, page embellishments, designer paper, pre-cut mats, fancy scissors that leave a design on the edge of the paper, paper cutters and dye cutters.

*A Creative Way To Recycle

Many people who recycle are into scrap booking. They use newspaper clipping, security envelopes that have nice designs on the inside, scraps of fabric, bits of lace and ribbon too small for any other use, old buttons, cereal boxes to make mats and clip art from magazines, wallpaper, cards, stationary and brochures.

*A No Fail Keepsake Of What You Find Important

No one fails at making a scrapbook. In its simplest form it's just pasting pictures, cards, notes, ticket stubs and other memorabilia in a book to protect it. Its little scraps and bits and pieces of what you thought important in your life.

Scrapbooks are inexpensive to make and fun to share and enjoy years later. It's an inexpensive trip down memory lane with the moments your chose to remember, not what others thought was important and that's why scrapbooking is so popular.
