High treason or a bloodless mutiny?
No matter, the name of the sword
that lands the final strike for freedom
has brought the end that came,
where none but two are held to blame-
both the same.
Truth alone can lift the shame
and justify the lost course of a once proud ship,
set sail to the edge of the map
when the world was flat, and pride was just that,
and I thought we knew where you were going.
Head strong winds carried us far out to sea,
to lands less than familiar but more or less similar.
The shells I collected from every shore remind me
of sadly nothing more than a memory...
of a cruise of a lifetime ago.
Unaware where the stars would lead...
That the sea had set a separate course for you and me,
one that we were no longer meant to be.
The last port of call was the last we would share,
the end of the story was ours to bear,
a challenge to care and be fair.
Caught in an epilogue and cast to part,
with only the courage found in a heart.
What strength could be found inside
could no longer hide or be denied
and was called upon,
for there will be storms,
there always will be some.
A new course to chart!
Now is when
and where I start
to venture beyond the known shores
oh so familiar.
What is to come I know not from
for my own map I long ago lost,
and what that has cost...
my most difficult lesson at most.
Guided by stars of intuition and knowledge,
and a compass of pure compassion,
the Universe at the wheel,
I set sail alone.
