Metaphors
There is no heaven
There is no hell
There is no earth and stars above
There is no ground
No grass to speak of, and no trees and flowers to feel.
There are no people, no animals, no life
There is no one to turn to, no man no woman no child
There is emptiness in all we see around us
Empty heads, empty hands, empty hearts.
Empty promises, empty pride.
The sun has kept its warmth away
Far from the moon and stars
Far from the ones I love
From the pain in the heart,
With the rain as its guard
Am I alive or am I alone?
Am I both but life is to cruel to let me know
I see people around me but I hate crowds
I hear chatter around me but can't stand the sounds.
People stare, places move, nothing is ever as it seems
I look to the heavens for divine light
But I am blinded by the clouds that hide the sunlight
Soon I will look to my feet and think of where they will soon take me
As I start to walk I think of a direction
And decide that I should keep walking the course ahead
It starts to rain and I am damn
It's cold and lonely about to get dark
But I am ready for what lies ahead.
Is the gloom ready for me? Will I fight and succeed?
I look through the rain and see a face
The face of an angel fallen from grace
I ask if she's seen the pain I'm in
And if she is here to make it better again
She nods her head and disappears
And soon the sun reappears.
I find salvation on my road to eternity
And continue on the path set before me
It will take me to a destination in time
To a place I need to be in my mind
To a place made just for me
A place to call home for all eternity.
