A lost shepard was I.
In the wilderness, I spent my days.
But then, miracle Divine!
Out of the forest, I found a way.
Then basked in the sun's rays.
It was not the sheep
That were lost. It was I.
For they had found Heaven.
And they led me to your warm light
And out of those cold nights.
I found my sheep
In a cloud, standing with yours.
And I recall the first time
Our eyes met. Oh! Those hazel eyes!
I sank in them. Ceased were my troubled sighs.
How I remain drowned
Under love-filled waters, haunted by
Your beautiful countennance. Only
Your presence would let me breathe.
The fields of love had newly sown seeds.
These very fields, I would
Die to visit. For you were there.
I would let my sheep graze and play.
While sit by the rocks and watch you throw
Your staff up and above, down and below.
Time passed by, but we never talked.
These fields are barren deserts now.
And we moved on to different lands.
You are far away, in the most fertile of all.
But I cannot come to you this time.
How, then, will you be mine?
